COVID-19 UPDATE

Beginning April 4, 2022, fully vaccinated international visitors can travel to Bhutan after a mandatory 5-day quarantine; non-vaccinated visitors must undergo a 10-day quarantine.

RT-PCR negative test certificate is not required for all incoming passengers except for departing passengers from Kathmandu wherein the requirement to produce an RT-PCR test certificate is mandatory.

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR SAFETY

The health of our guests and team always be our priority. The preventative measures we are taking will guarantee guests comfort and hopefully answer travelers COVID-19 concerns.

All our protocols follow the recommendations of the World Health Organization and Government Health and Safety Regulations, ensuring that you have a safe stay and peace of mind without compromising privacy and exclusivity when visiting our Lodge.

GUEST CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT

We practice a pre- arrival check-in process for the comfort and safety of our guests;

All guests are required to provide the official proof of vaccination certification;

All luggage will be treated with sanitiser on arrival;

All guests will receive a contact-less temperature check on arrival.

GENERAL HYGIENE

Hand wash and hand sanitiser are available throughout all Lodge areas, guest suites and bathrooms;

All our Lodge team will wear face masks as per government regulations and are available for guests too.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

Social distancing will be practiced in all public guest areas: lounge, dining room and terrace;

A dedicated F & B and housekeeping team will be assigned for the guests’ entire stay to minimise unnecessary contact with other team members.

OUR TEAM

All our Gangtey Lodge team are fully vaccinated;

All are checked daily for signs of COVID before being allowed into work;

Our team have all received and undergo regular training in the latest health protocols covering practices for hygiene, safety and social distancing, based on World Health Organization and Government Health and Safety Regulations;

40% of our team are qualified ‘Desuups’, the Kingdom’s volunteer force, professionally trained in a government- sponsored intensive 4-week COVID preventive and first response training course.

OUR FARMHOUSE SUITES

With only 3 suites per floor and 6 suites per building, our Lodge allows for easy social distancing;

Guest suites are sterilised and deep cleaned before check-in and daily during guests’ stay;

Strict cleaning protocols in suites are applied with a focus on high- contact areas and items;

Rooms will be re- allocated to new guests’ only once total disinfection has been completed;

Keys are sanitised on a regular basis;

HOT STONE BATHHOUSE AND IN-SUITE SPA TREATMENTS

Our Hot Stone Bathhouse and SPA areas will be disinfected regularly, with particular attention to high-contact areas;

All SPA equipment will be either for one-time use or thoroughly disinfected in between each treatment;

The hot stone bathhouse will be thoroughly disinfected in between each treatment.

DINING

We will provide guests with an online or personalised, individually printed, menu;

Seating capacity in our restaurant will be reduced to allow for social distancing;

Chefs will prepare food wearing face masks and gloves whilst practising international safety protocols;

No buffets will be served unless the Lodge is booked for exclusive use upon request;

Snacks and picnics will be individually packaged.

GUEST EXPERIENCES

We recommend that guests follow stringent hygiene practices of regular hand washing and sanitisation, limited hand face contact;

Social distancing and the wearing of face masks if appropriate;

Off -site activities such as community experiences are subject to change: please enquire at time of booking;

All equipment including bicycles, binoculars, darts and archery equipment, will be extensively sanitised between use;

All Lodge vehicles will be extensively sanitised between use.
