Our team is experienced in creating delicious, creative dishes that are gluten free, dairy free, nut free, and practiced at following the special rules for preparing kosher meals. Due to our remote location, please let us know of your needs at the time of booking, so that we may prepare. We would be delighted to create dishes especially for you.
Do you have vegetarian dishes on the menu?
Yes, absolutely! At Gangtey Lodge we focus on healthy dishes that are seasonal and comforting, many of which are vegetarian. Choose from Bhutanese, regional or classic home-style western favourites to make you feel at home.
An Incredible Trip
We have recently returned from an incredible trip to Bhutan and spent two nights at Gangtey Lodge. The five star reviews I have read are very accurate .The hotel is in a fantastic location with an easy walk to the monastery and there are numerous beautiful , interesting walks in the vicinity. Rooms are lovely and beds so comfortable but what makes this hotel so exceptional is the care and attention shown to their guests. They really care about you and do everything to ensure that your stay is perfect. One of our party has a very severe nut allergy and the fantastic chef and her team made 100% sure that there was no chance that any food that was offered during the days we were there had any chance of containing or being contaminated by nuts. She seemed amazed that we were so grateful and said that it was not a problem at all for the kitchen . A sharp contrast to the majority of restaurants and hotels in the West who make you feel that you are a real problem. This is an independent hotel , with incredible charm and real warmth towards its guests. Go visit.
Amazing Experience
Gangtey is at 11,000 feet and amazing (our Guide told us it would be our favorite lodge in Bhutan and it was). We loved Bhutan and the Gangtey is gorgeous and very special. The service was perfect, the food delicious (they even made me a personal bowl of the most wonderful chicken soup when I requested it), and the pastries better than in France. Our room was spectacular, they brought ginger tea and lit the fire in our room after dinner and again in the morning. They covered us in heated blankets and neck warmers while we sat on the porch in the colder mornings and late afternoons. They provided archery lessons as well. Spectacular, one of kind.
What an amazing experience
Gangtey Lodge is a luxurious place where your every need is catered for. All the staff are extremely well trained and their main wish is for you to enjoy your stay. The rooms are large, beautifully appointed and well maintained. The food is wonderful with a choice of local, or western food or, as we were there a third night, an Indian meal especially created for us. The spa is must to visit. This is a place that definitely needs to be on your list of places to stay.
